The Law of Torts

Dr. R.K. Bangia's The Law of Torts, revised by S.K. Raghuvanshi and published by Allahabad Law Agency, stands as a primary and highly recommended textbook for first-year LLB and BA LLB students throughout India. Written in an accessible and lucid style, this foundational text breaks down complex common-law principles into clear concepts, covering essential topics like the nature of civil wrongs, general liabilities, defences, remedies, and specific torts such as negligence, defamation, and nuisance. Furthermore, the updated edition connects core theoretical frameworks with modern statutory updates—including the Motor Vehicles Act, the Consumer Protection Act, and the Competition Act—using leading domestic and international case law to serve as a practical guide for both academic learners and legal practitioners.
