Law BookStudents' Handbook on Taxation
Students' Handbook on Taxation (covering both Income-Tax Law and Goods and Services Tax Law), updated for A.Y. 2026-27 under the New Syllabus, is designed for CA Intermediate students appearing in the May 2026, September 2026, or January 2027 exams, as well as B.Com students. It's built around a broad, illustration-heavy overview of Income-tax and GST concepts and general principles, aimed at making the subject genuinely easy to grasp rather than just technically complete. Computation of taxable income under each head is taught with an easy step-by-step approach, using prescribed formats, illustrations, case studies, and exercises. For exam practice, the book includes Multiple-Choice Questions at the end, and a Summary of Key Points closes out each chapter to help students consolidate what they've just learned. It also carries suggested answers for the CA Intermediate January 2026 examinations, and select questions from the past 20 ICAI examinations — suitably modified and re-answered per the law applicable for A.Y. 2026-27 — organized chapter-wise, with problems on total income and tax liability computation solved in full. Updated rules, important circulars, notifications, and case laws reported up to October 2025 are cited throughout, and recent amendments — while incorporated at the relevant places in the text — are also listed separately in an Appendix for focused revision.
